Be a Running Buddy
What is a Running Buddy?
A Running Buddy is an adult runner that runs, walks, skips or hops with a GOTR girl during her season ending 5K event. A Buddy ”runs” by a girl’s side, encouraging her to do her best while also recognizing and respecting her limits. That means keeping pace with the girl, ensuring her safety, and cheering her on every step of the way!
As a Running Buddy, you will share in the girls’ sense of accomplishment and pride as they complete the goal they have been working towards! You can share the girls’ excitement and enormous sense of accomplishment as they cross the finish line!
There are three ways to be a running buddy:
- Parent or guardian of the girl
- Adult named or designated by the girl’s parent or guardian
- Community volunteer assigned to a team or girl by the Council staff and team coaches (Community volunteers are required to
complete a background check.)
Please Note – All parents and Running Buddies planning to run the 5K need to be registered for the 5K. Register here.
