The Program for Girls in grades 6-8.

Girls on Track®  is another program offered through Girls on the Run® (GOTR), but is geared towards the interests and needs of girls in grades 6-8.  Like the GOTR program for girls in grades 3-5, Girls on Trackcombines training for a 5K (3.1 miles) run with lessons designed to help girls develop self-respect and healthy lifestyles.

The difference between the two programs is that the Girls on Track curriculum goes into more targeted, age-appropriate discussions regarding issues that many middle school age girls are likely to face, including eating disorders, tobacco and alcohol use, personal/internet safety and harassment.

As with all GOTR programming, what rests at the core of this program is the belief that equipping girls with the right tools can help them make good decisions and reach their potential. It provides the tools to help our girls take on the many challenges of this time in their lives.

In Kent County, Girls on Track for 6th-8th grade girls is held for 10 weeks in the fall. For information on the fall 2012 season, email director@kcgotr.org or program.kcgotr@gmail.com
