FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

CAN I BRING MY DOG OR PET?

For safety, all furry friends are not allowed on the course or at the event, so please leave all pets at home on 5K day! All pets will be asked to return to the pet owner's vehicle if spotted at the event.

ARE THERE AID STATIONS AVAILABLE?

Water will be available at the start. Two Aid stations will be available on the course. Each participant should plan to take no more than two servings of water at each Aid Station. Runners are also encouraged to bring water bottles along on the course. Additional water and snacks will be available at the finish line.

WHAT DO THE GIRLS WEAR?

Please be sure that your GOTR girl is wearing her 5K Girls on the Run tee-shirt, running shoes, and comfortable running clothes. Check with your team's coaches for any specific plans for your Girl on the Run and her team.

WHERE DO THE GIRLS MEET THEIR TEAM?

The staging area on Heritage Landing will be a secure drop off area. Think of the entire landing as the girl's "Locker Room." An area where they can get warmed up, talk to their coaches, and generally get ready for the run. You will find your team/school flag, sign in your girl with the coaches and then head out. This will give you time to find a good viewing location. This is also the place where you will meet your daughter after the 5K. The Locker Room is not accessible by vehicle. Please park first.

WHAT IF MY GOTR GIRL HAS A PROBLEM OUT ON THE 5K COURSE?

There will be a first aid station near the start/finish line, should medical assistance be necessary. There will be dozens of volunteers out on the course making sure the girls are following the route and taking care of any problems that may arise. All major roads will be shut down and staffed by public safety officers. LifeEMS service will be on site at all times in case of an emergency.

WHAT TIME WILL THE EVENT FINISH?

We encourage spectators and participants to stay and cheer until all girls finish. This teaches our girls to support their teammates and practice good sportsmanship. We encourage you to celebrate with your daughter, teammates, and all the girls from across the county.

WHAT HAPPENS AFTER THE 5K IS OVER? HOW DO I FIND MY GOTR GIRL?

Once your girl has crossed the finish line, she will be returning to her team's flag in the Locker Room (Heritage Landing). Plan to meet your GOTR girl there to sign her out with the coaches. All GOTR girls will then receive a wrist band for a visual verification that they have checked out. Girls may NOT leave directly from the course, and must have a parent/guardian check them out at their team sign. No exceptions!

Volunteer Registration

This event would not be possible without the help of amazing volunteers who believe in our mission and show up to support our girls. Over 100 volunteers are needed to put on our best 5K yet! Whatever your special skills and talents, we have a role for everyone.
