We envision a world where every girl knows and activates her limitless potential and is free to boldly pursue her

Girls on the Run is a transformational positive youth development program rooted in physical activity for girls in 3rd-8th grade. We teach life skills through dynamic interactive lessons and running games. The program culminates with the girls being physically and emotionally prepared to complete a celebratory 5k running event. The goal of the program is to unleash confidence through accomplishment while establishing a lifetime appreciation of health and fitness.

Kent County Girls on the Run is an Independent Council of Girls on the Run International, which has a network of over 225 councils  across the United States and Canada.

With the help of hundreds of volunteer team liaisons and coaches, we combine training for a 5K (3.1 mile) run/walk with a series of engaging, fun lessons that inspire girls to make a difference in their own lives and in the lives of others.

The program culminates each season with a 5K celebration run/walk ― a capstone event that helps participants realize the power they have to achieve their goals.

GOTR Programs are available for girls in grades 3-5 (spring) and grades 6-8 (piloting this spring season as Heart & Sole®).
